On the 27th October 2016 it will be ten years since Luke’s tragic and untimely death.   On the 28th October we will present the 9th LUKE BITMEAD WRITERS’ BURSARY.   

We are greatly looking forward to meeting this year’s finalists and sharing a vibrant evening with them and some of the generous supporters of Luke’s Memorial Fund who will be with us.

Luke, we will always miss you and thank you for leaving us your inspiring idea that we have taken forward with Legend Press, enabling us to encourage other fledgling writers who needed support.

If dreary, damp January has left you feeling in need of a burst of summer why not buy a copy of WHITE SUMMER the book that Luke wrote in SIX weeks !!   He was full of determination and energy to get a book published so he wrote this while he was waiting to see if Working Title, who had shown interest in THE BODY IS A TEMPLE, were going to go ahead with making it into a film.

Luke wrote White Summer with short chapters in a dynamic style so it makes an excellent read for commuters or people on holiday.   We saw people on the London tube laughing out loud hearing how Guy meets the breath taking Daisy and attempts to manage other relationships while falling in love.   Making ill-advised decisions creates hilarious situations that Guy juggles with, attempting to keep all the balls in the air.   A fast paced mix of hilarity whilst endeavouring to discover profundity!!
